Record Level Of Demand For Green Cars

Motoring.co.uk reported that since 2011 began, more motorists are looking for new cars that are eco-friendly. The 28 percent increase in demand for less polluting automobiles marks an all-time high. According to Motoring.co.uk co-founder Chris Green, research done by his company regarding demand for green cars supports data from SMMT revealing that 2011 car sales are being dominated by less-polluting cars.

From January through March 2011, sales of the current model year Toyota Prius have increased 51.5 percent. The electric Nissan LEAF was recently launched in the UK and the automaker already has an impressive 550 standing orders.

Mr. Green said that the increasing demand for new green cars is partially attributed to their improved performance and reliability.

UK motorists are attempting to reduce vehicle operating costs by reducing their fuel usage and qualifying for a lower tax bracket. Mr. Green believes that more people will choose cars that are inexpensive to maintain rather than showy.

He estimates a dramatic increase in car finance and purchase for green vehicles over the upcoming 18 months.

Now is a perfect time to purchase a low-emission and fuel-efficient vehicle. Incentives to buy low-carbon automobiles include company tax, London congestion charges, and road tax. The assortment of low-emission cars is growing and car buyers can use a car finance calculator to determine the difference between purchasing and taking out car loans. This tool also allows consumers to compare different aspects of two vehicles to find the better deal.

On the motoring.co.uk Web site, consumers can read car reviews, watch videos, and discuss related issues with other visitors. This should help them make the right choice regarding a new car, whether or not they pursue the eco-friendly route.

Doing something for the environment is great in itself but even better when it comes with cost savings.
